The 8th of August is National CBD Day, a day where we CBD enthusiasts appreciate CBD and the many ways it can be used and enjoyed. Since becoming legal in 2017, CBD has boomed in popularity across the UK, and the globe, with many people across the EU and various states in the US, adding CBD to their daily lives. It’s also a time for us to help share awareness on what is still quite a hush subject. Many incorrectly think that CBD naturally means Cannabis, or that it isn’t legal, so let’s spread a little CBD knowledge ahead of this day.
What is CBD and is it legal?
CBD, also known as Cannabidiol, is a natural compound extracted from the hemp plant. Hemp and Cannabis plants contain a wide variety of cannabinoids which include CBD. It is a non-psychoactive, non-addictive compound that is often enjoyed by those in the wellness community. CBD is very much legal in the UK but only as long as it does not contain any more than 0.2% of THC. THC is classified as a Class B drug making it illegal for use in the UK.
CBD can be found in a variety of products including CBD oil, CBD topicals, CBD edibles, CBD vapes and more. There are also several types of CBD: CBD Isolate (pure CBD without THC or terpenes), CBD broad-spectrum (CBD with terpenes but no THC) and CBD full-spectrum (CBD, terpenes and THC).

CBD vapes have grown increasingly popular and for good reason. For one, vaping is the most effective way to absorb CBD as it bypasses digestion and enters the bloodstream directly through your lungs. This makes it fast acting, benefitting those looking for a quick CBD effect.
